RE: Commercial Tire Replacement on Roadtrek 210

I am not sure if all 17.5 rims are the same or not. Someone put 17.5's on the dual rears of my old 1 ton wrecker and they do well. However if one goes flat it has to be taken off the truck to reinflate as they have no saftey type bead on the rim and when deflated they break loose at the bead and "flop" on the wheel. To reinflate them it is a big issue and I would be leery of driving a single wheel vehicle without a saftey bead that will cause a tire to go flat instantly if it happened to move away from the edge of the rim. The newer rims may have the saftey bead like the 16's
Hope this makes sense.

RE: 06 RT 190 Onan 2.8 troubles

Before getting too excited about the genset check the voltage draw on the ac unit. I had one the longer it ran the higher the amp draw for some reason. The amps went up the longer the ac ran until the amp load was too strong for the gen, but would also eventually blow the breaker if plugged into 120.

RE: In need of backing up advice with the B and utility trailer

Keep in mind the shorter the wheelbase of the trailer the more difficult it is to back and add to that in the van your sitting on top of the steering wheels adds to the task. Its a lot easier to back a 40 foot trailer than a 6 foot one because everything happens slower with the long trailer. With the short trailer when it starts to get out of line it is gonna get worse in a hurry. It will work out, just take your time and back very slow and make small corrections, but make the corrections as soon as you see the trailer start getting out of line and not try to correct after it is way out or then you have to over correct and end up with the trailer going the other direction. Instead of backing straight you end up going back and forth in a zig zag pattern. Go someplace and practice and try to practice with your backing and turning the trailer on the drivers side where you can see in the mirror and also looking out the drivers door glass, rather than the pass. side where you have to totally rely on the mirror. Good luck

RE: To Stablize or not?

Since no one is answering your question, I will try to. I seldom notice any rocking when I am walking around or moving in the van. The truck has heavy enough springs to take care of most of that. If, after you pick up your new camper, you will find how you feel about your van moving and how sensitive you are to that movement and can then make the choice if you want jacks. The screw type jacks would work for what your asking, however I have never used any on my camper. Good luck with your new purchase.

The ones on the fedders site are mostly rebuilt units. Fedders Q code and Maytag Q code are identical and made by fedders, however most of the time the Maytags are cheaper if can be found retail. There is one other brand that is made by fedders but it excapes me right now as so many things do lately.

RE: Best way to sell my B Class

Some banks now require a waiting period of a few days for a certified or bank check to clear before releasing a title. This is due to so many counterfeit bank checks. The safest way is have her bank do a wire transfer to the lien holder and you do the same and then the funds will be deposited in a couple hours and they will release the title very soon. In Missouri and I think most states the new owner could not get license plates without reg. the vehicle and that can't happen until they have the title. Just my experiences in Missouri. I do this often and deal with this sorta thing. I buy and sell dozens of vehicles yearly.
hope this is of some use to you

RE: Air conditioner goes "blooie"

The fedders is a issue. I have a 2003 200p. Replaced the AC unit last year and the new one lasted about 3 months. It is not simply remove and go anywhere and get something and put in the hole. RT in its all knowing wisdom made the roof and cabinet and the complete rear of the 200 to fit the dimensions of the fedders unit. The fedders/maytag is the only AC unit I have been able to find with the dimensions needed to work. The one in mine is a factory 8000 btu. If you have a 5000 are several different brands that will fit. In the 8000 all but the fedders/maytag are too tall or too wide to fit the hole, The body is made and a hole cut in the fiberglass body and the interior cabinets made to fit the molded body so not a simple matter to make the hole larger and not possible to make the hole taller due to the top fitting and bottom being the molded roof. I have step by step instructions with pictures I can email you if your interested. The 8000 fedd and the maytag are the same unit and are as far as i have been bale to tell no longer being produced. They are hard to find, however not expensive if you locate one.

RE: How many miles do Ford van conversion motors go?

If you look around at all the companies using econoline service vans, many of which have 300,000 miles or more, that will kinda answer your own question. The econoline is very tough.
